Indie rockers aim for the big time

LOCAL band The Vicounts face an exciting future and say the next six months will be "pivotal" in their fortunes.

The indie rockers from Kilsyth - Lewis Burns on drums, Stephen Craig on bass and David McLernon on guitar and vocals - say big things are in the offing.

"We're on the verge of signing a management deal and are absolutely convinced that the freshness in our sound will propel us to the next level," said David McLernon.

"Our initial aim is to secure some high profile support slots and get some national exposure with our EP, then, who knows?"

As reported last week, this Friday night the lads will be playing a gig at the Curling Stone in Kilsyth, and after that they will be gigging at Ayrshire venues before returning to Cumbernauld for Sonicfest in the first weekend of September.

When not gigging the band are working on their first recording at Paul's Halls and planning new publicity photos to accompany this imminent release.
