Lost boys set record

MOTHERWELL Theatre reports ticket sales for this year's pantomime have set a new record.

The theatre has sold 25,000 tickets for its production of Peter Pan, which stars Ian 'Sheepie' Smith, who played Muddles in last year's Jack and the Beanstalk.

Sheepie, playing Smee, is joined by Martin Clark as Peter, Amanda McLaren as Wendy, James Dinsmore as Captain Hook and Mr Darling, Vikki Sparkes as Tiger Lily/Mrs Darling and Mark Nixon as Jolly Jake.

Supporting them is a huge cast of performers recruited from the local area, including six boys taking turns to play John and Michael, another 30 boys forming three teams of Lost Boys, three six-girl dance teams and two senior girl dancers as well as four pirates.

The show is produced by Spillers Pantomimes, who also created the last four Motherwell pantos.

The show opened on Monday (November 22) and runs until January. Tickets are 10-12.50 and can be booked on 01698 403120.

The Concert Hall is currently undergoing a 6 million refurbishment but work has been temporarily suspended for the panto and will resume after the run.
