Robert was invited to Kilsyth Library by CultureNL where he gave a talk about the Scottish Wars of Independence. That’s the the setting for his latest novel The Lion Rampant, based on the events surrounding the Battle of Bannockburn.

Librarian Jennifer Hosie said: “The people of Kilsyth have an avid interest in Scottish history and throroughly enjoyed this evening with Robert Low. He took us on a fascinating journey through time, giving us a wonderful insight into the characters involved and debunking many of the myths that have grown up and around them. Robert gave us the chance to hear about parts of the battle often left out of current narratives and coloured his talk with many of the ‘lost voices of Bannockburn’.”

Robert Low’s works, known as the Kingdom Series, focus on William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and Edward I. All are available from the libraries or Culture NL’s e-reader scheme.
