Start off the New Year on the right foot — and then the left — for a bit of dancing

NORTH Lanarkshire Council has announced several new dance courses which will start up in the New Year, suitable for people of all ages.

Dance classes for ages five-eight and nine-12 will be held on Wednesdays at Springfield Community Centre, Airdrie, Thursdays at Stepps Primary and Cultural Centre, and Fridays at Henderson Theatre, Shotts.

There is also a Street Dance group for ages five-12 at Greengairs Community Centre on Thursdays.

The course fee for any of these groups is 24. Two sessions are available, running from from January 10 until February 18 and February 21 until April 1.

For those a bit long in the tooth for these sessions, there are also adult dance classes available - Just Dance! and 50+ Stretch and Dance.

50+ Stretch and Dance is held on Mondays at Gartlea Community Centre and also Netherton Community Centre in Wishaw, on Tuesdays at Janet Hamilton Centre, Coatbridge. and on Fridays at Muirhead Community Centre.

The Just Dance! Cource for anyone aged over 16, which includes salsa, jazz, street and hip hop dance styles, will be held every Thursday in Stepps Cultural Centre. 50+ Stretch and Dance is 3 per class, while Just Dance! is 4 per class (discounts for Passport to Leisure holders).
