Tenerife date for local lads The Replay

CUMBERNAULD band The Replay have landed an international gig.The lads are looking forward to playing the International Youth Music Festival in Los Cristianos, Tenerife, next month.

The Replay were invited to the festival after relatives of member Carlos Hernandez living in Tenerife sent the organisers a demo. Clearly they liked what they heard, as they invited the band for an all expenses paid trip to the festival.

Singer Luke Boyce said: "We fly out on August 18 for a few days all expenses paid and are really excited about it. It's an outdoor gig on a beach and usually attracts a huge crowd."

The Replay have been very busy since winning YRock's Urban Spotlight competition in December last year. They performed to a crowd of 600 Girl Guides at their centenary celebrations near Drymen and closer to home have also appeared at the Noizy Social Club in Ravenswood and Cumbernauld Gala Day.

Two other gigs are coming up in the near future – Barrowland 2 on Saturday, July 24 and the ABC 2 on September 23, where they will be supporting another Cumbernauld band – Bright Young Nights. And they have just qualified for the final of Glasgow Youngscot Citysounds 2010 in November.

"We're also waiting on confirmation of a return to the Noizy in September to support up and coming Dundee band, The Law, it's a great wee venue and we're looking forward to playing it again," said Luke.
