Tom's Burn-ing ambition for art

BURNGREEN Art Club have put on a display at Cumbernauld Library showcasing the work of local artist Tom McDonald.

Tom has some 80 works on display, a mixture of still life and landscape paintings, many with a floral theme. A percentage of the sales will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Tom said: "We are hoping to get quite a few sales to generate a fair bit of cash but obviously that depends on people knowing the paintings are there.

On the first day we had five sales which is not too bad considering most of the buyers would just have been people going to the library to return their books."

The exhibition will be in Cumbernauld Library until April 24.
