Coffee chain announces it will re-open Cumbernauld branch

Tim Hortons has announced that it will partially re-open its new Cumbernauld branch on Friday, (May 15).

The cafe in Cumbernauld Retail Park is one of just seven in the United Kingdom that will being trading again - but only in a drive-thru capacity.

A smaller team of staff will return to the premises - which has been deep cleaned- and offer breakfast, lunch and evening meals from 7am to 10pm seven days a week.

The employees will be subject to wellbeing checks before every shift and asked to confirm they are well enough to work. Contactless thermometers will also be used to take temperatures. Social distancing measures will also be in place.

Kevin Hydes, Chief Commercial Officer at Tim Hortons U.K. & Ireland said: “Our priority is the safety and well-being of our teams and our guests, therefore, we have taken our time to ensure that as we begin to reopen our restaurants we are able to so with confidence and an eagerness to provide our customers with our great tasting products.”

Cumbernauld’s KFC opened its drive-thru last week but its press office didn’t respond to our request for further comment.
