Maria, who lives in Cumbernauld with her fiancé, Michael, has been with Red Deer Village, a five-star retirement village for the over 50s, since March 2015.

Handling administration and reception, whilst also coordinating the in-house maintenance team, and many other tasks, Maria is based in the village’s state-of-the-art Community Hub which was launched last year for use by all the park residents.

Along with open plan space in which to socialise, the hub also contains an impressive reception area, plus private offices for Maria and her team, so that they are always on hand to deal with any enquiries from park visitors, or the residents themselves.

Maria said: “I’m thrilled to have completed my course, which I have fitted in whilst working here and looking after my young children, Liam and Eva.

“It’s been hard work, but very fulfilling and I am really proud of myself, as it’s clearly taking my career at Red Deer Village to another level!”

Park owner John Hendry offered his congratulations.

He said: “We knew Maria would do it, she has really applied herself to the course and grown in confidence.

“She is now a very well known face attending to many enquiries every day to ensure the smooth running of this park, and is an asset to our Hub building.”

Last year Maria was presented with an Exceptional Service Award by national trade body the British Holiday and Home Park Association, at the launch of the Community Hub.
