NLC in talks with unions as IT upgrade may lead to job losses

North Lanarkshire Council is engaging with trade unions to minimise job losses as it automates more of its services.

Price Waterhouse Cooper is currently working with the council on upgrading its IT networks, which could potentially result in job losses.

At a public meeting held in Motherwell Civic Centre it was confirmed by assistant chief executive Robert Steenson that the council was reaching out to trade unions to organise workshops about the changes to IT.
