Opening date announced for one local library only

Cumbernauld’s Central Library will re-open on Monday(August 31) and is one of just two North Lanarkshire libraries to do so.

The Scottish Government deemed that libraries could open in the middle of July but North Lanarkshire based bookworms have faced a longer wait.

And readers in Kilsyth and Condorrat will not be able to visit their own branches as yet - because the only other local authority library to re-open at this stage is is in Coatbridge.
