The pub, owned by Hawthorn Leisure is hoping that by offering this service, they are able to protect the vulnerable in their community, who are now quarantining following updated government guidelines.

Kieran said: “We felt that it was our responsibility as a community pub, to help support our community during this period. We were aware that many local people were self-isolating, and wanted to ensure that they had the essentials.

“We have started providing thre meals per week for free, to 30 households in the area, and also delivering basic shopping. People are also able to pay more and receive up to 7 meals per week.”

Hawthorn Leisure managing director of operations, Mark McGinty said about Weavers: “It is more important than ever that our pubs are community hubs.”
