NHS Lanarkshire issues statement on timescales for delivery of newly approved vaccine

Health bosses have responed to a request from this newspaper as to when the Covid-19 vaccine will be made available in this area - and to whom.

Dr Mark Russell, Associate Medical Director, Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire, said: “The roll-out of the covid-19 vaccine is being led by the Scottish Government and the majority of details will be determined at a national level. The priority groups in the first phase are health and social care staff, care home staff and residents, and people over the age of 80. These groups will be vaccinated between December and February.

NHS Lanarkshire has set up a Tactical Group to take forward the delivery of the local plan and will provide regular updates.”
