North Lanarkshire Council is calling on local firms to donate surplus protective equipment so it can be distributed to staff performing vital frontline services such as caring for vulnerable people.

The council published a video on its social media platforms featuring a home support worker explaining the urgent need for fluid repellent masks.

These are used in a variety of businesses including beauty salons, opticians, vets, painters, tattooists and dentists. The council is also seeking donations of gloves, plastic aprons and goggles.
