Craig is a national star

He had already won the regional heat for managing the Burngreen Brae site, and at a ceremony in Birmingham on Friday he went on to win the national honour.

Craig faced unique technical and health and safety challenges at the Kilsyth site, where the nearby quarry had steeply sloping sides.

Mike Quinton, National House Building Council (NHBC) chief executive, said: “These Awards recognise and share best practice, rewarding those who are leading the way in this field, and Craig can be truly proud of his accolade.

“It is vital that health and safety remains a top priority as house-building continues its recovery from recession, and Craig is an exemplar of best practice.”

The national winners were selected from 51 commended entries announced in May, after winning through earlier heats.
