Janice Hewitt is North Lanarkshire’s new health and social care chief

Janice Hewitt is now at the helm of the organisation, which is backed by NHS Lanarkshire and North Lanarkshire Council.

Janice, who began her new post earlier in August, said: “This is a huge opportunity to build on the work of NHS Lanarkshire and North Lanarkshire Council. My ambition is to improve health and social care services for adults across the area.

“In time we may find we have to change some services quite radically and some may just require minor tweaks, however throughout the next while, we will listen to patients, clients, families and carers and our staff to ensure we deliver safe, effective, efficient and person-centred care for the people of North Lanarkshire.”

Ian Ross, chief executive of NHS Lanarkshire, said: “I am delighted to welcome Janice to Lanarkshire.

“She brings an impressive portfolio of knowledge.”
