Abbey’s card design comes top

OUR Lady’s High School were spreading Christmas joy this week with their very own Christmas card.

The school ran a competition for students to create and design their own car, with the winning entry being used as the school’s official Christmas card.

S6 pupil Abbey Hughes took home the top prize last week and was named the winner.

The artistic pupil focused on the traditional Christmas sentiment of Mary, Joseph and the infant Jesus, but recreated their images in a modern style.

A spokesperson for North Lanarkshire Education said: “Abbey’s card is fantastic.

“It really hones in on the traditional Christmas theme and the art work is superb.

“It’s pleasing to see such a gifted pupil be able to put their talents to use like that.

“Christmas is a time where we can be distracted by the stress of buying presents but it’s great to be reminded of the true meaning of Christmas with this excellent card.”

The school’s head teacher Michael Currie congratulated Abbey on her card and wished all a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
