Artist tribute night

FINISHING touches are being put to a very special evening at Cumbernauld Theatre on Saturday (January 28) – which commemorates the late artist and playwright Brian Miller who passed away last year.

We’ve told how the venue intended to stage a tribute night for the man who helped build and develop the theatre. Now management have shed a bit more light on how they’ll do that.

Readings will be staged from Brian’s most successful plays including Junk, Skip The Memories and Bargains. A selection of his visual art works will be on display in the Theatre Bar.

Naturally Brian’s widow Mae will be in attendance with their family and, of course, friends of Brian will also be out in force on the night.

The theatre’s artistic director Ed Robson said: “For over 50 years, Brian Miller was at the very centre of the community, artistic and social life of Cumbernauld.

.”Join us for an evening that  recognises Brian Miller’s contribution to our town and which remembers one of the most creative and passionate members of our community,” he added.

Entrance is free but donations on the night are welcome with all proceeds to Strathcarron Hospice and Macmillan Nurses. The event begins at 7.30pm.
