Caim and Jacynth to perform for church in Seafar

Caim, a Celtic singing duo comprising local woman Heather Innes and Jacynth Hamill from Belfast, will be joined by American singer/dulcimerist Gloria Hays.

Heather and Jacynth have been friends since the 1980s. They formed Caim in 1998 Canon David Adam of Lindisfarne asked them to set some of his prayers to traditional Celtic music. The project produced their first album Caim - Sung Prayers in the Celtic Tradition (1999). Caim have now released an additional eight albums and in 2008 their song Healing God hit number 6 in the US Gospel and Country music charts.

Wisconsin-based Gloria Hays met Heather in Ireland in the early 1990s and has toured internationally with Caim many times. A mother of four who has spent 25 years performing around the world - playing extensively around Europe, Asia and the USA and raising four children, she spends most of her time today performing at a hospice in Madison and campaigning for equality.

Caim and Gloria will perform their concert on Wednesday, April 25th at The Church of the Holy Name, Fleming Road, Seafar starting 7.30pm. Proceeds, which are by donation, will go to the church building fund.
