Local ramblers are celebrating after Twechar Healthy Living Centre became a medal route walking hub.
Staff from the centre, local health groups and members of the wider community were all invited to take part in the official launch recently and took up the opportunity to try out the new walking routes.
The aim of the project is to encourage communities throughout Scotland to become more active, helping Scotland deliver a physical activity legacy from the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Medal Routes are developed by identifying a walking ‘hub’ with circular routes of different lengths - bronze, silver and gold (of approx 15, 30 and 60 minutes) starting and finishing from the hub.
