Cornerstone House hosts storytelling event for kids

Children of all ages are being encouraged to read at a storytelling event, which has been organised by a Cumbernauld-based church.

Cornerstone House held their monthly storytelling event on Saturday.

The event is being held each month to make families aware of the benefits of reading to children from a young age.

Those behind the project say children who read will perform better in other areas of school work such as spelling and creative writing.

The storytelling event also allows parents to bond with their children and spend quality time doing a fun activity.

Cornerstone House hopes that more people become aware of their free lending library through the storytelling event.

The library is open to all members of the community and can be accessed at Cornerstone House most days.

The next storytelling event will take place on Saturday, July 27.

The event is free and takes place at the end of each month.

It runs from 10am to 11.30am.
