DANCERS will be able to learn the steps from the famous ballet Swan Lake at a workshop which will take place in Cumbernauld next month.

The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is hosting an Adult Repertoire Workshop at Dunnswood Studios on Sunday, March 3, from 11am to 1.30pm.

Anyone taking part will explore the enchanting story of Swan Lake through dance, music and acting. Following a brief warm-up, participants will learn choreography from a selected scene, gaining an insight into the way in which a corps de ballet dancer studies and rehearses. The workshop will also improve both technical and performance skills.

Former professional dancer Natalie Marks will be teaching the workshop and brings with her a wealth of experience.

She graduated with a degree in theatre dance and has toured the UK and the Baltics with various companies, before completing the RAD Professional Dancers’ Teaching Diploma in 2011.

Applicants interested in the upcoming Swan Lake workshop should contact Maria O’Connor, RAD training officer on 0207 326 8024 or e-mail

Application forms can be downloaded from the education and training section of the RAD website,
