Over 1000 dancers take part in the week showcasing the best community dancers from across Scotland, and Dance in Step will get their opportunity on the Saturday.

Dance teacher Linda McLean says she has specially choreographed routine which will showcase the work of the older teen class, pro-dance group, adult pop and street, and the adult tap class.

She said: “The routine is really uplifting, motivational and very fast.

“We are using anthems from strong female singers of our generations so I’m sure it will resonate with all members of audience.

“The routine is certainly pushing the abilities of the dancers so it is brilliant to see them rise to the challenge”

Dance In Step opened in 2009 in Cumbernauld and Abronhill, and operates 10 classes a week for pre-school to adults, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Linda added: “I never expected us to be performing again, especially not two years in a row.

“But after the success of last year and the how much fun we all had performing, I felt I had to put the school forward again.

“I was overjoyed when I found out we had been selected.”
