DJ Marc set to play Braehead dance festival

An up and coming DJ from Cumbernauld is due to hit the decks along side some of the biggest dance music stars in world at Coloursfest.

Marc Hamill (25), from Abronhill, will play the local heroes stage at the Braehead Arena event on Saturday, June 1.

The former Abronhill High School pupil started djing around four years ago at the now defunct Glasgow club Byblos. Since then, he has built up a reputation in the club scene billing events for Elevate, Up4it, Trancelate, Korect, Colours and Love Electro.

Marc loves to play both house and trance music, and admits he can’t wait to make his Coloursfest debut.

He said: “I play both trance and house music. Mostly house although I have a soft spot for trance, which is my first love.

“Ever since I laid my hands on a set of decks I have always had the same buzz, playing the best music to crowds who are going mental for me. Nothing beats it.

“Making my Coloursfest debut this year has got to be my biggest gig to date. When I got asked to play it I was over the moon. I couldn’t believe it.”

He has started to go down a similar road to those acts by looking at making his own music.

He said: “I’m currently getting into producing and I’m at a very early stage. Hopefully within the next year or so I’ll be playing my own music at my gigs.”
