Like any profession, journalism is made up of all kinds of characters. However, local newspapers are a breed apart from the Fleet Street of old.

As I tell young people on work experience, local newspapers are where it’s at. We are there to fight the corner for our community, to right wrongs, campaign over
issues and, better still, to give ordinary people in the street a voice.

Your feedback is always welcome.
