The wedding of Connie Sherlock and Dermot Carry.
HOW THEY MET: Connie was working in the Crock o’ Gold Irish Bar in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria when holidaymaker Dermot walked in!
THE PROPOSAL: During a romantic break in Troon.
THE WEDDING: The pair were wed at picturesque Cumbernauld Old Parish Church and the reception was held at the Glenskirlie House.
THE WEDDING PARTY: About 100 attended and mixture of Scottish and Irish guests made it quite a combination- some were still partying on down at 6am!
THE DRESS: A beautifully made corset topped off the exquisitely jewelled dress which was bedecked with Swarovski crystals. The mini-train of the dress bore the couple’s initials. “I like my bling!’’ admitted Connie.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Chief bridesmaid was Connie’s pal Megan Webb. The other bridesmaids were Connie’s former colleague Joanna Newman and a friend from Ireland Karen Kennedy. Best man was Martin Kavanagh. Ushers were Ray Kavanagh and Connie’s brother Gary.
THE HONEYMOON: At time of going to press, the pair will be sunning themselves in Mauritius.
THANKS: Connie wants to say a particular thanks to her mum who organised so much of the wedding while she was across the Irish Sea! The organisational talents of chief bridesmaid Megan have also been praised!
