THIS Friday night local live music fans can once again be entertained by Itchycoo Park at the Twa Corbies in Carbrain.
Itchycoo Park style themselves as a “tribute band for a musical era” – specifically the 1960s, and perform in period dress with authentic instruments,
With a setlist covering everything from the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Kinks to Cream, Turtles and Small Faces their broad repertoire has a universal appeal and means every gig is different.
Local music promoter Jock Barnson, who organises the live music at the Corbies, said: “With such a huge repertoire of material to choose from you never get the same set twice. Top quality musicianship along with superb close harmony vocals have made Itchycoo Park the most respected band in Scotland reviving the super sounds of the Swinging Sixties.”
Itchycoo Park are Ronnie Davidson on guitar, vocals and keyboards, Jom Logie on bass guitar, vocals and keyboards, John McNaught on drums, percussion and vocals and Les More on guitar and vocals.
Itchycoo Park are no strangers to international touring, having played to appreciative audiences in such far-flung locales as Turkey and the United States, and have of course played Liverpool’s famous Cavern Club. They are well known to local audiences, having built a devoted following through their many appearances not just at the Corbies but other venues in the area such as Cumbernauld Theatre
The show starts at 8pm but as these nights are always popular the Corbies will fill up fast and early arrival is recommended to make sure you don’t miss up. Entry is just £3.
