Local firms bequeath time to Will Aid

SOLICITORS in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth are taking part in an initiative where they will offer their skills in will-making to the public in return for a donation to charity.

The scheme is organised by UK charity, Will Aid who run an annual project dubbed Make a Will Month, which provides the service of creating a Will without the usual charge.

Instead, solicitors ask that users simply make a recommended donation to one of the Will Aid charities; ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire.

The initiative aims to reduce the emotional stress and cost that can come with drawing up a will.

Cumbernauld solicitors Moore Marshall and Kilsyth firm Mathie Lennox will take part in the scheme this year, which will run in November.

Organisers are encouraging those interested in the programme to book their appointment now as the public demand is expected to be high.
