MP encourages local kids to enter Christmas stamps competition

MP Gregg McClymont is encouraging primary school pupils to enter a new competition to design this year’s special edition Christmas stamps.

Royal Mail are asking children to respond to the question, What does Christmas mean to you?

And Mr McClymont believes that Cumbernauld and Kilsyth’s young people have the talent to win.

Mr McClymont said: “I know there’s still six months to go until the big day but this is too good an opportunity to miss.

“I usually run my own competition to design my official Christmas card so I know there are a lot of budding artists out there.

“This is the first time Royal Mail are running a competition like this so I would love to see a stamp designed by a local child on my Christmas cards this year.”

Entries must be received by July 19.
