LOCAL indie band The Replay are to play on the main stage at Glasgow Green on Sunday, July 31.
The gig, which is part of The Glasgow Show 2011, is expected to draw some 50,000 visitors to the Green over the weekend, and the talented local teenagers earned the job by winning the last year’s Glasgow City Sounds competition.
They will open The Music Zone by playing a 30 minute set beginning at noon.
Lead guitarist Luke Boyce commented: “As a mod/indie band it will be a bit weird sharing the stage with Jai McDowell who won Britain’s Got Talent recently, Lloyd Daniels from X Factor and Retake. Our style is so different to theirs but there should be a great crowd. All we need is some decent weather.“
Other attractions at the festival include stunt teams, parachute displays, a circus, fairground rides and more.
Tickets for the Glasgow Show are £5 for adults and £2 for kid, available on the day or from www.glasgow.gov.uk.
