School is almost out for summer, and North Lanarkshire Council have organised a whole host of activities to keep the kids entertained.
This year’s Breakout programme has hundreds of fun activity sessions on offer.
Pupils from St Andrew’s Primary School in Cumbernauld were jumping for joy when they launched this year’s activities, which include performing arts, sport, creative pursuits and play.
The programme includes free weekday swims at all North Lanarkshire pools including the Tryst swimming pool.
The summer sun can be enjoyed at free “pop out to play” sessions in public parks throughout the area.
North Lanarkshire’s libraries service has a whole host of activities to keep all ages entertained.
Jim Logue, the council’s learning and leisure convener, said: “We’re running an exciting range of summer activities with hopefully something to interest all young children.
“The full events line up is on the council’s website so parents can search by area, date, age group and activity. It also lists also all the great range of free events to help have a great summer on a budget.”
