KILSYTH Civic Week 2012 got of to a sunny start on Saturday when Kilsyth Thistle Pipe led the parade from Kilsyth Academy followed by lots of walkers and floats from Kidstore Nursery and Kilsyth Community Church.
The parade made its way to the Burngreen for the crowning of Queen Abbie by last year’s Queen Laura Ann Scott.
The Queen and the crowd were then entertained by The Starlets, De Ja Vue, Brazilian Fire Eaters and the local taekwondo club.
There was a great variety of stalls mainly for local charities and organizations and everyone enjoyed walking round the stalls and helping them raise funds.
This was just just of the start of an eventful week, with many more events still to take place.
