Tennis academy seeks recruits

North Lanarkshire youngsters are being encouraged to try tennis.

The sports has never been so popular with the success of British No.1’s Andy Murray and Laura Robson inspiring people of all ages to take up the sport.

And for those wanting to hit the courts, North Lanarkshire Leisure’s Tennis Academy is serving up lessons for players of all ages and abilities at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility.

Coach Grant Shearer, said: “The indoor court at Ravenscraig is the perfect place to play tennis no matter what level you are at.

“We offer classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings for youngsters between the ages of four to 10 years old and adult lessons on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

“Tennis is a great sport to keep fit, have fun, challenge friends and learn new skills.”

The tennis academy is delivered by a fully qualified Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) coach with classes taking place in eight week blocks which can be joined at any time.
