A MAN and a woman were arrested in Cumbernauld after police found them with an estimated £25,000 worth of drugs.
Officers stopped a Volkswagen Golf on St Andrew’s Drive last Friday, and seized the drugs, believed to be cocaine, following a tip-off.
Both occupants were detained in police custody.
The man, identified as 26-year-old James McKee from Glasgow, appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday in connection with the arrest and made no plea or declaration.
A Crown Office spokesperson said of the woman: “We can confirm that a report has been submitted by the police to the Procurator Fiscal in Airdrie concerning a 26-year-old female, in connection with an incident on January 7. The report is currently under consideration by the Procurator Fiscal.”
In a separate incident, a 56-year-old man was reported to police on Monday after an alleged assault in the ground level car park at Cumbernauld Shopping.
