Police have charged a 50-year-old woman amidst claims that the state of her home was putting a child at risk.
Officers were sent out to the house in Whitelees Road at 2pm on Thursday on an unrelated matter.
The officers involved quickly raised concerns about the run-down nature of the premises.
They have alleged that its state of disrepair was potentially hazardous to the general state of health of a young resident.
She was then arrested under the terms of the Children and Young Persons Act, which aims to protect youngsters from dangerous living conditions.
A report on this incident has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
