Alert after spate of diesel thefts

BUSINESS owners are being urged to up their security after three diesel thefts took place in the area.

The first theft took place on a building site in Cumbernauld’s Beechwood Road on the weekend beginning Friday, October 21.

Kilsyth was the location for the next theft, when a Scania truck was targeted at Kilsyth paper mill at 10.30am last Monday (October 24).

Police have described the amount of fuel taken as “significant.’’

The third incident also took place in Cumbernauld when several hundred pounds’ worth of diesel was stolen from lorries parked in Badenheath Place overnight last Wednesday (October 26).
