Armed Forces Day recognises local heroes

Local heroes who have fought for their country were recognised in the lead up to Armed Forces Day.

Armed Forces Day took place on Saturday, June 29, and several events were held in and around the area to mark the occasion.

War veterans from previous conflicts joined Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire Mushtaq Ahmad and Provost Jim Robertson to unveil a special flag to mark the occasion outside the council headquarters in Motherwell.
