Arrest made after death in Cumbernauld.

Police have arrested a 30 year old man in connection with the death of 39-year-old Balloch man Stephen Scroggie.

Officers had rushed to an emergency callout before 1am on Sunday, March 22 amidst claims that a violent incident was underway in Balloch’s Cairngorm Gardens.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that Mr Scroggie had been found dead at the scene and that another 30 year old man had been taken to hospital where he had been treated for his injuries.

A Post Mortem was due to be held but police confirmed that the death was being treated as suspicious.

Police have now confirmed that a 30 year old man has been arrested.

He is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court today (Wednesday)
