Ashley takes the plunge for hospital

A BRAVE Kildrum teenager looks set to reach new heights when she skydives from a plane in a bid to raise funds for a charity close to her heart.

Ashley Drew (18) is looking to collect at least £450 for Yorkhill Children’s Hospital as a thank you for the work they have done for her and her little cousin Layton
Stevenson.

The former Cumbernauld High School pupil was treated at the hospital when she was 10 years old for a blood disorder.

Ashley and her family, mum Caroline, dad Ian and brother Gordon (24), initially feared the worst as her
symptoms suggested she had leukaemia.

But she was given the all clear after six weeks.

Her cousin Layton, however, has not been as lucky and has required regular
treatment from the hospital since birth.

Layton lives with his parents Claire Miller and Keith Stevenston, who both live in Newton Stewart in Dumfriesshire and travel to Glasgow for treatments.
