ATM skimming device found in Kilsyth

We recently reported that local people should be aware of the devices when withdrawing cash from ATM machines in and around the area. 
A device was found in Kilsyth’s Market Street. 
Police say they retrieved the device from the Royal Bank of Scotland in the town. 
It is believed the skimming device may have been placed on the ATM sometime between 5pm and 6.30pm on Thursday, November 28.

The bank manager was made aware of the device the following morning after a customer that her bank card had not been returned.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old Stepps man has become the latest victim of “skimming”.

The man went to the Royal Bank of Scotland ATM on Cumbernauld Road, Stepps at around 6.30am on Friday, November 29. 
At this time the machine failed to return his card. He thereafter returned later on the day and spoke with the bank manager who informed him that the ATM had been tampered with.

It was also noted that a four figure sum of cash had been removed from the victim’s bank account.
