Award for Alyson

A TEENAGER from Cumbernauld has been awarded for her commitment to a vital helpline service.

Alyson Bowman (18) has been part of ChildLine in Scotland’s young people’s group since 2009. As part of the group Alyson shares her thoughts and opinions on issues that the ChildLine service hears about from children such as bullying and the facts of life. The work of the group helps to shape the ChildLine service in Scotland and also influence its work with the Scottish Parliament.

One of Alyson’s biggest achievements was helping to launch the new ChildLine online service at an event held in the Scottish Parliament in 2009. Alyson demonstrated the new ChildLine website to primary school children from across Scotland.
