Bags of cheer

KIND Hearts in Kilsyth are heeding the Christmas spirit with a gesture of true Yuletide cheer at Cumbernauld Asda.

For members of Storehouse Church which meets in Balmalloch Primary School wanted to reach out to local families who are struggling financially - and decided that food parcels of Christmas treats were the way forward. The church’s David Moir explained that this has been a big team effort that’s brought the best out in so many.

David who lives in Barr Path said: “More than 40 parcels have been delivered to homes in Kilsyth and a few in Cumbernauld. Money was donated by members of the church and a donation was also given by Kilsyth Rotary Club.

“Great assistance was provided by Asda and especially by their community support worker Lynne Deakin who put the parcels together. Kilsyth Health Centre staff were also very helpful in the organisation of the distribution. A big thanks to all,” he added.
