From the beat - Cumbernauld police

An alarm was activated when thieves attempted to break into a flower shop in Cumbernauld Village.

The incident happened sometime between 5pm on Thursday, June 6, and 9am the next day.

Police say the alarm was activated once the intruder tried to force entry.

A garage door was set alight in Cumbernauld. The incident happened on Kyle Road at around 1am on Saturday, June 8. The Fire Brigade attended and extinguished a small fire which appeared to have been started due to someone placing a small amount of paper at the foot of the door and thereafter setting it alight.

A car has been stolen from a Cumbernauld house after thieves nicked the keys during a break-in. The white Audi was taken from Barberry Crescent after thieves smashed a window to gain entry to the house before stealing an iPad and a set of car keys. They then drove off in the vehicle. The householders were in bed at the time when they heard the sound of glass breaking and the house alarm activating. They then observed the car being driven off. The incident happened at around 5am on Sunday, June 9.

Thieves attempted to break into a house in Cumbernauld. The incident happened on Scott Drive sometime between midnight and 5.30am on Saturday, June 8. It is believed that crooks failed in their attempts to gain entry through an insecure window.
