Biggar High School pupils raise £3000 for charity

Pupils at Biggar High School raised a staggering amount when they held a series of events for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

And headmaster Robert Stewart, who had bet that they would not beat the £2500 they raised a few months ago to support a teacher in Tanzania, was astonished when their Easter fundraising brought in over £3000.

“I think that is absolutely unbelievable for a small school over three days,” he said. “The pupils have excelled themselves yet again.”
