Bike up for grabs in Cumbernauld 10k raffle

A limited edition Irn Bru bike is up for grabs in a raffle to be drawn at this year’s Cumbernauld 10k event on Sunday, September 22.

The bike has been donated to the event organiser North Lanarkshire Council and NL Leisure by Cumbernauld based A L Barrs.

Money raised from the raffle will be donated to 10k charity partner The Scottish Spina Bifida Centre and The Scottish Centre for Children with Motor Impairments, who are both based in the town.

Tickets, priced £2 each, will be on sale at Broadwood Sports Facility reception until the day before the race and then at the event on the morning of the 22nd. The winning ticket will be drawn during the event.

Councillor Jim Logue, convener of the learning and leisure committee and chairman of the NL Leisure Ltd. said: “Barrs have been excellent supporters of the Cumbernauld 10k by donating bottles of Strathmore Water for all participants each year.

“We are delighted they have now given us this bike, which will help us raise money for our charities who provide vital support to the children and families across Scotland affected by spina bifida, hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy and related conditions. I would like to thank Barrs for their generous gift.”

Runners in this year’s 10k event and children’s races can also contribute to the work of the charities by making a donation via their entry form or by raising sponsorship by taking part.
