Blazedeath mystery

A SPECIALISED unit at the Crown Office is studying a police report into the death of David Ogg, whose body was found in a burned-out caravan at Melrose, writes Bob Burgess.

A prolonged police investigation followed the fire in Tweedmount Road on Saturday, July 27, but detectives have told the procurator fiscal that Mr Ogg’s death remains unexplained.

A Crown Office spokesman told The Southern: “The investigation into the death, under the direction of the Scottish Fatalities Investigation Unit, is ongoing. The family will be kept updated in relation to any significant developments.”

Police Scotland say they are awaiting direction from the fiscal following submission of their report.
