COLZIUM Estate in Kilsyth is inviting people to enjoy a snowdrop spectacle again this year, reminding people of the beauty of the area during the winter months.

Around 50 magnificent snowdrop gardens are set to pull in the crowds once again this winter, as VisitScotland kicks off the fifth year of its annual Scottish Snowdrop Festival on February 1, bringing a welcome boost for the gardens and the surrounding tourism businesses as the industry goes through its traditionally quieter months.

In the year of Active Scotland, the festival is a great way to encourage visitors to get out and about and enjoy a range of gardens and forest walks that are famed for their stunning snowdrops between February 1 and March 15.

Pamela McMahon, regional director for VisitScotland, said: “Local gardens and parklands play an important role in attracting visitors and adding value to their holiday experience. People visiting North Lanarkshire can enjoy the Snowdrop Festival by visiting Colzium Estate which delivers a spectacular show at this time of year.

“The Snowdrop Festival represents an important part of our Winter White campaign, as we look to promote the natural beauty of the area, especially during these months which are traditionally quieter.”

The Snowdrop Festival runs from February 1 until March 15. For more information on participating gardens and for information on offers and things to do throughout the winter months, visit www.visitscotland.com/snowdrops
