Brick hurled at bus in Cumbernauld

DUNN’S Buses are appealing for help after a group of youths hurled a large stone through one of the bus windows, nearly hitting an elderly passenger.

The incident took place last Thursday, June 16, at around 5pm, when the number 34 service was driving through Carrickstone.

Bus bosses are now offering a reward of £100 to anyone who can pin-point the culprits or who can provide them with information which could lead to the arrest of those responsible.

Police are also appealing for witnesses after a similar incident took place on the same day but an hour earlier.

An Iveco Van had its windscreen damaged when a brick was thrown off the footbridge near Central Way, striking the vehicle as it travelled north on the carriageway near to the junction with St Mungos Road.

The suspects are described as 13-14 years of age, one was around 5ft 4in wearing a black baseball cap, white shirt and black trousers. The other had fair hair, a red hooded top and black trousers.
