The Co-op in Muirhead reopens tomorrow following a £765,000 makeover.
The store on Cumbernauld Road will focus on fresh, healthy foods, meal ideas and essentials. It was also have new self-service checkouts to improve service times.
The Co-op is also launching a new membership scheme with members getting a five per cent reward on purchases of own-branded items with additional one per cent going to such local groups as Chryston and District Support Group, Beatroute Arts and Moodiesburn Community Development Trust.
Store manager Maria Ashford said: “We are delighted to have made such a significant investment in our Muirhead store. It has a great new look and we are looking forward to relaunching and serving the community. The Co-op is moving forward with a clear purpose and momentum and our ambition is to establist the store as a local hub.”
