Carluke’s Annette takes walk for cancer charity
GP practice manager Annette Brown took part in the Scone Palace Pink Ribbonwalk, to raise money for Breast Cancer Care last year so she could raise money for the charity which helped her through her own diagnosis back in 2010.
Having beaten cancer herself, Annette now volunteers on the Breast Cancer Care’s hair loss advisory service Headstrong, which provides support for people having treatment for breast cancer.

“I went along to a Headstrong sessions whilst I was having my treatment and they showed me alternatives to using wigs, such as using head scarves. I wanted to be able to offer the same support.”
Last year’s Pink Ribbonwalk series raised over £730,000 with those taking part completing either a 10-mile or 20-mile walk.
