Charity funding available

The application deadline for a community bursary programme has been extended for worthy causes.

Ross and Liddell is giving non-profit groups in this area the opportunity to apply for financial support of up to £500.

Funding requests were due to be in by the end of June, but the company has decided to give community groups and organisations more time to apply for funding.

The closing date is now Sunday, July 28, and Irene Devenny, managing director at Ross and Liddell, is urging local groups to get involved.

She said: “We have been overwhelmed at the amount of applications that have been coming in from a wide range of clubs and organisations. To ensure everyone has the opportunity to apply for funding, we have decided to extend the deadline for another month.

“Ross and Liddell has always identified and provided support to clubs and voluntary organisations as part of its ongoing community engagement objectives and we are delighted to be able to develop on this and provide funding with our bursary programme.

“We want to hear from applicants about how the funding will allow their group to continue to deliver work that has a true legacy and impact within their local community.”

The bursary, which is now in its third year, has helped clubs and organisations pay for materials and services they might otherwise be unable to afford.

Groups wishing to apply for funding from Ross and Liddell’s Community Bursary 2013, should visit www.ross-liddell.com to complete an online application form.
